The Science
There is more than a little irony about Specialized Kinesiology being at the cutting edge of today’s neuroscience. Mostly because there are so many ties to Eastern Medicine, which is thousands of years old.
For thousands of years, pressure points and meridians have been used to determine which organs or systems of the body were sick and to prescribe herbal remedies. This wasn’t considered “alternative medicine" anywhere in the world until the past 100 years or so.
In fact, it may surprise you to learn that most medical doctors around the world still use this practice today, along with prescribing pharmaceutical drugs and herbal remedies - and it works well for them and their patients. Very well in fact.
Think of the meridians like different circuits that run through your body. Each one passes through different organs and has different pressure points along the way. It's simply a matter of learning the roadmap of your body. When you know which pressure points belong to which circuits - and which organs those circuits pass through, you are able to feel if the pulse is weak or sluggish.
A good strong pulse at the pressure point indicates that the organ along that same circuit (meridian) is also strong. A weak or sluggish pulse indicates that the organ along that same circuit (meridian) is weak or sick and needs some help. Of course, this is a very simplistic explanation. There are many more layers to what I do, but this will give you a good idea of the main concept.
The Era of Physical (and Pharmaceutical) Medicine
Modern Medicine as we know it is based solely on the physical body. And yet, we innately know that we are a being with a physical body, a mind, and a soul or spirit. We are all aware that mental health has been given a bad stigma until recently, and even now people are hesitant to admit they need therapy or other mental health treatments. The medical profession is largely secular, subscribing to the theory of evolution and the “Big Bang” Theory and therefore leaving no room for Divine Design.
Without a Creator, the issue of how one’s soul or spirit might affect the physical body becomes problematic. Therefore, the medical approach to treatment has remained very Darwinian; you just happen to be alive. Your goal is to survive life, and then you die. But we all know we are beings with a mind, body, soul and spirit.... not just beings with a body.
These thoughts and emotional reactions from your Mind caused a very real reaction in your Body. This seems reasonable right? We all know this to be true from our own life experiences.
Now apply that same concept to your thought-life as a whole. Do you know someone who is always happy and smiling? Do you think it is more likely that nothing bad ever happens to this person or that they choose to focus on the positive side of things, no matter what is happening in their life?
What about the negative person for whom things always seem to be going wrong. Do you suppose they actually have an exorbitant amount of bad luck, or that it just seems that way because all they focus on is the negative things in life?



The Mind-Body Connection
When you feel unwell, or when you have injured your physical body, you go to a medical doctor. As long as the root of your issue is physical, they can help. However, what happens when it is your thoughts and emotions that are the root cause of your ailments? What is the impact of stress or trauma on your physical body? How do your mind and thoughts fit into all this? Or do they?
Let’s Explore this a bit: Imagine you are having a really bad day. Everything seems to be going wrong. You’re frustrated, agitated, and exasperated. And then a perfect stranger smiles big at you as they hold the door? Did you feel your body and mind lighten just a little bit? Did you take a moment to slow down, take a deep breath and smile back?
Have you ever walked into a room and just felt like something was off or something was wrong? Maybe you picked up the phone and the way the person on the other end said your name, you knew something bad had happened. Did you immediately get a knot in your stomach or did your hands get clammy?

Some of these things you've always heard or read start to take on a whole new meaning when you truly understand the impact your brain and your thoughts have on your health and physical body.
Your life is not lived so much by what circumstances happen to you and around you - so much as your life is lived through the filter of your perception of the circumstances that happen to you and around you.
Clearing "Blockages" (What I do)
I know this part can sound abstract and hard to fully understand at first. But if you can think of your mind in terms of not only an information highway, but also an energy highway, it makes it a bit easier to understand. As long as messages - and thoughts and energy and instructions - can travel freely between your brain and body, everything operates how it was designed to operate.
As each of us goes through life, we are faced with things that happen to us - and things that happen around us. These things can cause blockages along the highway between our brains and our bodies. Sometimes these blockages are caused by physical traumas that occur, sometimes they are caused by emotional traumas that occur - and sometimes they aren't caused by anything significant at all! Just the "wear and tear" of living life as a human being.

In addition, Modern Medicine takes a mechanical approach to your physical body, as if it were a device or a machine. Every doctor specializes in one part of your body. Much like a mechanic with a car, they examine, treat, and even replace parts of your body as if each operates independently of the other.
We know these medical practices do not work. How? Take a look around you. About 60% of the world’s population is dealing with chronic pain and disease. Everyone we know is sick and their doctors don’t seem to know what is wrong, what is causing the illness, or how to cure it. And would you believe it - even though these medical practices continue today and are touted as “cutting edge”, they’ve actually been outdated since 1925!

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Philippians 4:8

So, with that in mind, think back to the last time you went to your doctor and they asked you what you’ve been thinking on lately. When did they ask what thoughts were dominating your time. If they were positive or negative - and how they might be influencing your body. My guess is that has never happened.
The Mind-Body Approach is really that simple. We all intuitively know that our thoughts effect us, but we haven't really known how much until now. This is what is so cutting-edge about the advancements in neuroscience over the last decade or two. We are learning that your mind's perception of what is happening all around you has more of an effect on your life than what is actually
happening around you. We are learning that this is why it is so important to control your thoughts.
Another very helpful way to think of the synapses in the brain is as valves, like the one pictured here. Each of these "valves" must be able to open and shut fully. Sometimes they get blocked "open" or get blocked "closed". They can even get blocked partially open or partially closed. This results in some part of your physical body or your mind being unable to operate as it is intended.
Using a scientific method developed by neuroscientists, I touch various points along the meridians (or circuits) of your body, which allows me to see which areas are clear and functioning with ease, and which areas are restricted or blocked.
I then "clear" or "balance" these areas, allowing the brain and body to communicate freely again.
This method is safe. It is effective. It requires no medication. In fact, you do not even have to know where the blockages are. Your body was made so incredibly that by simply "reading" the pressure points along your body's natural meridians will tell us where they are and how we can clear them.
I was blown away by how this method so easily restored the communication between my son's brain and his body after a devastating concussion, returning him to "normal" after we were told that he may never regain what he had lost. This method has forever changed my life and that of my family - and I never tire of seeing how it changes the lives of my clients.
